M Abdus Salam, a fearless organizer of poverty alleviation and women’s development initiatives, as well as a human rights activist, is the founder and executive director of Gana Unyan Kendra (GUK), a North Bengal-based social service organization.On a British government grant, he earned a master’s degree in Project Planning Development and Decentralize Management from the University of Bradford in England in 1993.In addition, he graduated from the same university in 2002 with a postgraduate degree in human resource management.
He has established 26 community schools, three higher secondary schools, one technical school, and two training centers for the northern region’s inhabitants in order to alleviate poverty, improve education, and promote social development.In addition, 28 shelters have been established in Uttaranchal’s Char regions for the hapless flood victims. The 64-year-old humble man has spent the majority of his life striving to improve the lives of underprivileged and vulnerable women, men, and children.
Abu Md. Zahurul Qayyum is a well-known education specialist. He has thirty-three years of experience managing educational institutions and teaching. He has been a cultural and children’s organizer for about 40 years. Among the sociocultural organizations he is associated with are Udichi, the Women Repression Prevention Committee, the Conscious Citizen Committee, and Jatiya Rabindra Sangeet Sammelon Parishad. He is a life member of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, the Gaibandha Public Library and Club, and the District Shilpakala Academy in Gaibandha.
During his time at school, he started writing. His writings are mostly concerned with the Great Liberation War and local history. He is a researcher at the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. He worked as a researcher for the Proverb Research Project, Cultural Survey, Banglapedia, and Liberation War Encyclopedia. For thirty years, four of his book have been published.
Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman Subhani (Retired) is the principal of NICE School and College. He is the former director of Education of the Bangladesh Army. He served as the principal in many prestigious military and government institutions in Bangladesh including Mymensing Girls’ Cadet College, Rangpur Cadet College, Barishal Cadet College, Chattogram Cantonment Public College, Adamjee Cantonment College and Dhaka Residential Model College. After retirement, he was also the Registrar of the Canadian university of Bangladesh. As the chief advisor of Gana Unnayan Residential Model School & College his extraordinary contribution in these institutions are highly recognized and cemented his legacy.
